Why I am Running
Rusty Rains is running for Oklahoma House District 81 because our state needs leaders who understand how the real world works. With 38 years in Oklahoma's energy industry and a track record of building businesses, creating jobs, and making tough decisions, Rusty is ready to bring that same accountability and discipline to the State Capitol.
Meet Rusty Rains
Rusty Rains has spent his entire career building things and solving problems.
After graduating from the University of Oklahoma with a degree in Finance in 1988, Rusty went to work in the energy industry and never looked back. Over 38 years, he worked his way from the ground up, holding positions at Conoco and Enable Midstream before founding and serving as CEO of Great Salt Plains Midstream. He also served as President of the Natural Gas & Energy Association of Oklahoma (NGEAO). Today he manages HGMR Properties, TMCR Investments, a private investment partnership focused on mineral assets and energy development.

Rusty and his wife Mary have been married 34 years. They have two sons, Hunter and GT, and they attend Faith Bible Church in Edmond, where they have lived for the past 20 years.
Rusty is running to succeed retiring Representative Mike Osburn and bring his decades of private sector experience to the Oklahoma House of Representatives.
I've spent my career signing both sides of the check. I know what it takes to balance a budget, meet a payroll, and make the hard decisions. It's time we had more of that at the Capitol.
